I believe that art should be joyful, accessible and a little bit magical - no matter what your experience level.
I've been creating & teaching art for nearly 40 years, and my favourite thing is helping others discover the freedom that comes from picking up a paintbrush/pencil/marker - and just going for it!
The joy I get from this gives me such a buzz, and I know that the joy you'll get by creating will give you the same buzz too!
My courses are made for EVERYONE!

A (very) Personal Note:
Art isn't just something I love -
it's something that helped me through the HARDEST chapter of my life.

After losing my sister to suicide,
art became a way for me to process my grief
and reconnect with hope.

More silly facts about me:
I was born and raised in Benoni, a small town near Johannesburg in South Africa.
I loved growing up in Africa - the bright colourful landscapes, the vibrant people and the majestic animals have always provided endless inspiration to my creativity.

I've been drawing since I was a kid - here is a drawing from when I was about 15:

In my twenties, I came over to the UK to work and travel. It wasn't long before I met and fell in love with a my English husband.
So I swapped South Africa for South London where we now live with our 2 children and our Miniature Schnauzer called Bailey.
Bailey loves to be apart of it all - especially when I'm painting!

I try to be kind to as many people that cross my path as possible, whether that's letting someone with a handful of groceries go ahead of me (and my big weekly shop) at a checkout, or complimenting a stranger, or gifting plants, art or cards for no good reason. I choose to do this because I want to spread a little joy into the world, make it a brighter place, cheer someone up. Perhaps it makes me feel like I am paying my so called debt for not helping my sister, or perhaps I'm just doing it because I don't want anyone to feel the way she must have felt, and I definitely don't want anyone to go through the pain of losing someone to suicide.
Luckily for me, my art is a massive enabler for this. I am fortunate enough to be able to use my art to help spread joy into the world.

I strongly believe that my story, my journey, as painful as it's been, has led me to where I am today.
I am so grateful that I have the skills to create a creative mindfulness painting class that will to enable me to spread even more joy than my art alone does. Through these courses, I get to spread joy, not only to you, but also to those around you - through the awesome art that you create!
And that's why I want my watercolor painting course for beginners to be as accessible as possible, because first and foremost its about spreading joy.
